Capel - A Major US Resource for Area Rugs

The name Capel is one of the most familiar names in American area rugs, having been in the rug weaving business for over 80 years. The family business started making braided rugs all those decades ago.

Nowadays, though, Capel is much more than braided rugs; and not only are they a leading US manufacturer, they are also a large importer of machine made and hand woven area rugs from Europe and Asia. This has enabled Capel to become a leading rug supplier in the US, keeping in stock many styles of rugs, apart from braided, such as Oriental, Persian, bath rugs, outdoor rugs and many more. They combine in their stock machine and hand woven area rugs from the US, Belgium, India, France, New Zealand, China and other countries. Hand hooked rugs are a speciality of Capel.

The two pictures shown are both of Capel braided rugs, the first being from their own Shadowbox bryce collection. This example, called Juliette, is handmade from 95%wool and 5% polyester. The second picture is of a Sailor Boy braided rug, made from chenille and reversible, this area rug is designed toadd some color fun to a home with casual decor.
