Antique Nourison Design Area Rugs From Shaw
The older style rugs that many of us remember in our childhood were usually heavily patterned; intricate and artistic patterns, rich and warm. Persian carpets and rugs may come to mind, bringing with them an ancient tradition that led to genuine antiques in the world of carpets.
Those vintage styles have not been forgotten, and although their popularity goes in waves, they are still much in vogue as a class floor covering.
While most of cannot afford antique rugs, we are fortunate that many modern manufacturers and designers come up with new rugs that draw in depth from the antique designs. The appearance of such "reproduction antiques" can be just as effective as the real thing.
The range of rugs illustrated on this page are designed by Nourison, and are appropriately called Antiquities. These are not hand woven antiques from Persia, but machine woven by Shaw in the USA. Yet their colors and patterns have the richness of their inspirational source in Asia.
