Decorating Your Floors With Oval Braided Rugs - Colonial Mills Collection
Also: Braided Rugs

While there is a big choice of colors and sizes available when you are searching for a rug or carpet, that is not so when it comes to shapes. It usually come down to the basic shapes: rectangular, square, round and oval. All shaped area rugs have their place in modern and traditional homes, but if you are tired of straight lines and 90 degree angles, then you might well favor circular or oval rugs.
Someone who is not so keen on too many straight lines and right angles for their interior design, might also be reluctant to have the simple symmetry of a rug that is precisely circular. Oval rugs can be more appealing to look at than completely circular rugs. It is also true that oval rugs have more flexibility in their placement, as there are situations around the home where a circle rug would look out of place, or at least not quite so practical, but the oval equivalent seems more in keeping with its surrounds. Narrow entrance halls and landings are an example, as is the area in front of a fireplace if you have a long sofa, where the length of the oval rug can give everyone some foot space.
Most types of rugs can be found in oval shapes. If it is a braided rug you are looking for, then you will find oval is a popular shape for area rugs made in the braided style. Whether you want dark or light, bright or dull, patterned or plain, you will find plenty of oval braided rugs to choose from.
